Preparing For UTV World Championship

Following Ellstrom Racing's outstanding podium finish at the Mint 400 in Las Vegas, the team's Pro Turbo UTV is back at Holz Racing's Lynden, Washington shop for modifications.

Team owner Erick Ellstrom says the vehicle will be stronger and faster and added, "We have been in two events in this class and had a lot of success, but really they were like testing for us. With what we've learned and the help we get from Mark Holz, we are confident we can be a front runner."

The UTV will be ready for the RZR UTV World Championships April 13 - 15 in Laughlin, Nevada. It will be the third entry in the Best In The Desert series for Ellstrom Racing, following a class victory in the Pahrump 250 and a third place finish in the tough Mint 400.

The team will add some manpower for the World Championship, with veteran racer Kirk McGinnis added to the crew along with Troy Holmberg and Richard Corella from Ellstrom's H1 Unlimited Hydroplane team joining Krister and Hannah Ellstrom for the Laughlin trip.

Speaking of the team's Unlimited Hydroplane (did your ears perk up?) Ellstrom says, "Once we see what the H1 schedule is for points races, we may decide to take the boat to all of them and try to win another National Championship."
