Top Ten Finish In Laughlin

Sven Ellstrom and Chazz Arenibas covered the 8 laps of the 16 mile Laughlin off-road course in 2 hours and 42 minutes in the Ellstrom/Oberto Pro Turbo UTV - good enough for 8th place out of the 46 starters in the night race at the Laughlin Desert Classic.

Team owner Erick Ellstrom was very pleased with his team's performance and credited two new associate sponsors whose products played a big role.

"Our new BF Goodrich Tires performed flawlessly," commented Ellstrom. "The tires were great in all of the different conditions on this course. They were a big part of the combination that allowed us to run hard for over two and half hours."

Another new addition to the Ellstrom/Oberto Race Team saw the car completely fitted with new lighting from Baja Designs. The new lights were put to the test in the night race in the desert outside of Laughlin, Nevada and driver Sven Ellstrom like the way they performed.

"The lights were great," He said. "Starting as far back as we did (46th on the grid) we had to battle through a lot of traffic to get into the top 10 and the Baja lights really helped. They came on board just in time for our first night race."

Erick Ellstrom added, "Adding those two great companies to the support we get from Oberto as well as Sonic Tools, Walker Evans, Holz Racing and AZ West, we have a really strong team going forward."

Ellstrom concluded, "We passed 25 to 30 racers to post the time we did, so overall we are very pleased with the car's performance. And our finish in this race will give us a much better position on the starting grid for the PAHRUMP NUGGET “250” presented by POLARIS. DECEMBER 1."
