The Road To Alamo

The Ellstrom/Oberto Racing Team is back on the road - on the way to the VT Construction Silver State "300" presented by Polaris RZR this weekend just North of Alamo, Nevada.

Alamo is an unincorporated town in Lincoln County, Nevada, about 90 miles North of Las Vegas - population about 1100. The population will grow dramatically this weekend as hundreds of the country's best off-road racers gather to compete in one of their favorite events.

Those who like the event include team owner Erick Ellstrom who says, "We have run well in the past at this event and we are coming off of a strong finish our last time out in Laughlin. The car is in great shape and we'll have a great starting position."

Driver Sven Ellstrom and co-driver Chazz Arenebis will be 4th on the grid, putting them in the second row of starters who will go off two at a time beginning at noon Saturday. That start will make things much easier than the team's last race, where the Ellstrom/Oberto team drew the 28th spot on the grid and had to battle to get up to 4th place at the finish.

Ellstrom and Arenibas are familiar with the competition that will be with them at the start. Jason Murray of Santa Anna, California will be beside them in the second row. Consistent front runners Phil Blurton of Auburn, California and Mitch Guthrie of Glendora, California will be the first pair to leave the start line.

Tech and Contingency will take place Friday at the Texas Station Casino. in Alamo.
