APBA Gold Cup Seattle Bound

Among those in attendance for the celebration of Sven Ellstrom's life June 1st in Seattle, will be - the APBA Gold Cup, the oldest trophy in motorsports. The Gold Cup will be on display at the Seattle Golf Club during the event.

The Gold Cup is very significant to the Ellstrom family, as Ellstrom Racing won the most prestigious trophy in boat racing a total of six times. From 2007 - 20013, Ellstrom Racing recorded the longest string of consecutive Gold Cup victories in the history of the event. The 2008 Gold Cup was cancelled due to high winds.

Funeral services for Sven Hjalmar Ellström, who passed away Wednesday May 18 in Seattle, will be held at the Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home in Seattle on Wednesday June 1 at 11:00 am. The celebration of his life will follow at 1:00 pm at the Seattle Golf Club – 210 NW 145th Street in Seattle.
