Ellstrom Racing And Tensor Tires - Fast In The Desert
In its first year of competition in the Best In The Desert off-raod racing series, Ellstrom Racing has impressed the competition with young Sven Ellstrom and co-drivers driving the Ellstrom/Oberto team to a series of podium finishes in the Turbo UTV class.
When asked about the team’s early successes, team owner Erick Ellstrom says, “A major factor has been our relationship with Tensor Tire and the opportunity to run their new Tensor DS UTV Tires. We are getting incredible performance and durability from our Tensor Tires and are very happy that have chosen to be associated with Ellstrom Racing.”
Introduced late in 2016, The Tensor DS is the evolution of Tensor’s very successful ‘Regulator A/T’ and was developed strictly for UTV off-road competition use. With a softer compound, the ‘DS’ offers superior performance under race conditions. The DS is available in a 32x10x15 and boasts the lowest weight of any race tire on the market at 34.5 lbs. With the improved compound and a 1600 lb. load rating, the DS gives racers the ultimate balance between durability and performance. Ribbed shoulders offer extra protection in a puncture-prone area of the tire.
The combination is obviously working very well for Ellstrom Racing. Erick Ellstrom added, “Teams that are fortunate enough to be running the new Tensor DS Tires are getting great results. They are among the top teams in off-road racing and we are excited to be included among them.”
